Dear Member,
The  Abersoch & District Trade &Tourism Association Ltd have now merged with Llŷn Tourism Partnership to provide one dedicated centre for all businesses on Pen Llŷn to increase their profile amongst the tourists who visit each year.   As one voice for the Llŷn based in the Peninsula’s largest village, we are confident that we can raise the national profile of the area as our “Welsh Riviera” and encourage more visitors.   The new office as most of you will have noticed, will move from its current location to the chapel vestry, which is more visible to visitors arriving in the Village. Improvement works on the building are well under way and we aim to be open once again before Easter. The office will continue to be run by Avril, Martin and Pauline.

We look forward to welcoming new members and thank all the businesses who continue to support us.

We have been asked to clarify a couple of points by some members:

  • 1. Insurance – all properties that must have third party liability insurance.
  • 2. Fire Risk Assessment - the law introduced in October 2006 - known as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 – makes you responsible for taking steps to protect the people staying in your holiday home from risk of fire.

Under this law you must:

  • carry out a fire risk assessment
  • if necessary, improve your fire safety measures
  • keep the risks, and your fire safety measures, under review.

A fire risk assessment is something you may be able to do yourself. In many cases, it may be common sense. But, you do need to set aside the time to assess thoroughly the risks in you holiday home and then put in place measures to minimise them. To assist, we can provide an example of a completed fire risk form and a blank one for your own use.

Further detailed information is available on line at: www.communities.gov.uk/firesafety

Please ensure this is carried out as soon as possible and the relevant documents are placed in your house.

Thank you for your continued support, and lets keep our fingers crossed for a warm, busy summer.
